WHO WE ARE

OUR MISSION

Ngurra Pilbara Group will strive to successfully grow into a supplier of first choice to mining and civil construction companies in Western Australia. We will provide meaningful work and business opportunities for Aboriginal people to benefit from the volume and scale of economic activity on their country.

Ngurra Pilbara Group wants to be a highly valued service provider to mining and civil construction companies by being professional, reliable and competent in delivering equipment and services.

We seek to improve the socio-economic circumstances of Aboriginal people through the creation of sustainable and rewarding employment and business opportunities.

100% Aboriginal owned and operated, NPG will be a highly ethical, family-oriented company with a culture of fairness, understanding and innovation.

A Proud ABoriginal Business

Ratehi Hirini is the founder and key person within the Ngurra Pilbara Group.

A Nyiyaparli man, born and raised in the Pilbara, Ratehi carved out a career for himself in the mining industry before deciding to put his experience and energy into running a business. Striking out on his own isn’t just about securing his future and that of his family, Ratehi is motivated to create opportunities for Aboriginal people.

Being able to employ Aboriginal people and utilise other Aboriginal businesses where possible are key elements of NPG’s operating model. Ratehi is dedicated to promoting Aboriginal economic participation, particularly in the vast amount of work and activity happening in the Pilbara.

Very aware of the cultural obligations and practices of Indigenous people in the Pilbara, NPG structures its business in a way that accommodates the cultural needs of its workforce. With policies and procedures aligned to mining industry standards, NPG still manage to keep the specific needs of Aboriginal employees and stakeholders firmly in mind.

With a high performance business culture, NPG wish to be recognised for their reliability and service delivery whilst still managing to be a fair and sensitive employer of Aboriginal people.

NPG will look to share knowledge and expertise with other Indigenous organisations and seek long-term partnerships to jointly tender and execute projects where it is suitable.

WHAT WE VALUE

SAFETY

With an absolute commitment to safety, NPG insists on clear, well-structured processes and procedures that are adhered to, reviewed and enforced. Safety management systems are not simply in place to meet regulations or legislative requirements they serve to protect customers, staff and all stakeholders.

NPG is driven to have a positive impact on our community. Whether it is through a commitment to sustainable operations, protecting the environment, or providing meaningful work opportunities for Aboriginal people, NPG is determined to operate in an ethical and socially responsible manner. We will work to secure the trust of the community, establish our social licence to operate and even assist other entities to promote and deliver positive outcomes for the broader community.

Cultural Sensitivity

At NPG, we prioritize the well-being and cultural needs of our Aboriginal workforce by understanding their unique requirements, rooted in the Pilbara with a founder from the Nyiyaparli people. We value flexibility and provide support, investing in our people to cultivate loyalty, enhance work output, and ensure reliability. Additionally, we strive to balance work and life commitments by offering 10-day-on, 10-day-off rosters, alleviating the strain of mining jobs on family life. Moreover, NPG supports employees with Drive In Drive Out (DIDO) arrangements, tailoring accommodations to meet individual preferences and needs.

Growth Oppurtunities

At NPG, our dedication lies in fostering the talent of our Aboriginal workforce through various means. This commitment is manifested in our provision of training and development opportunities, facilitating access to programs and work experiences aimed at skill enhancement and valuable learning. Furthermore, we engage in collaborative initiatives, partnering with major mining companies to bolster the professional growth of Indigenous employees. Through these concerted efforts, we aim for positive outcomes not only for our workforce but also for the broader community. We invite you to join us in our mission to empower Aboriginal talent and collectively build a brighter future.
